What’s new in WPE WebKit 2.51.1?

  • Use the GPU process for WebGL by default.
  • Add initial API for WebExtensions.
  • Add API to handle WebXR permission requests.
  • Add new API to query the WebXR immersive session status.
  • Improve text rendering performance.
  • Compute the layers tile size, using a different strategy depending on whether GPU rendering is enabled.
  • Add support for run loop observers that are now used to replace the layer flush timer and properly implement the opportunistic task scheduler.
  • Add initial support for WebXR on Android.
  • Improve WPEBufferDMABuf to allow importing more kinds of buffers as into pixel buffers using wpe_buffer_import_to_pixels().
  • Fix speaker enumeration for ALSA PCM sinks.
  • Fix rendering for gradients with hue interpolation method.
  • Fix rendering of layers with fractional transforms.
  • Fix pasting image data (like image/png) from the clipboard.
  • Fix importing a WPEBufferAndroid as an EGLImage when using EGL 1.4 or older.
  • Fix several crashes and rendering issues.
